March 2021 - IPS Covid Safe Plan
Following the Victorian government's easing of Covid restrictions the IPS executive has developed a Covid Safe plan to ensure the safe re-opening of our club rooms. Click here for the latest version of the plan.
In accordance with the State government announcement of stage four coronavirus restrictions for metropolitan Melbourne from Sunday 2 August until Sunday 13 September, our Club rooms will remain closed. The situation will be reviewed following easing of restrictions and the release of the State roadmap for re-opening.
20 March 2020
Following Monday’s announcement by the Premier of Victoria declaring a State of Emergency and further restrictions of group gatherings, the IPS Executive Committee has made the decision to postpone the following events to safeguard the wellbeing of our members.
- Portarlington Ferry Trip and Winery Luncheon (22 March)
- Cooking class (5 April)
- Annual General Meeting (26 April)
- Trivia Night (30 May)
- Bingo and Open Day (cancelled for the remainder of March and April and maybe beyond pending the situation with the Covid-19 pandemic – participants will be notified)
The clubrooms will remain closed until further notice.
This decision was not made lightly as our events are not simply social occasions; they also provide connection and companionship for many of our members, particularly the regular Bingo and Open Day gatherings.
Please stay connected via our website www.ithaca.org.au and Facebook page and don’t forget to make a regular phone call to touch base with family and friends, in particular our elderly Nona and Nono/Yiayia and Papou, or Theio and Theia, during these extraordinary and unprecedented times.
The health and safety of our members is our utmost priority. We will provide updates of any further changes and details of when various events will be rescheduled. In the meantime, please adhere to government advice and stay safe.
