Welcome to the Ithacan Philanthropic Society
The Ithacan Philanthropic Society is a Greek community organisation established in Melbourne in 1916 by early immigrants from the beautiful island of Ithaca, home of the legendary Odysseus.
Our purpose is to continue with the intention of our founding fathers: to offer philanthropic support to our community in Melbourne and our ancestral home of Ithaca but also to engage our members through social and educational pursuits.

A great day was had by the approximately 500 attendees at our 2024 annual picnic. Blessed with perfect weather for a day in the glorious Ferny Creek setting it was a chance to get away from town, relax and enjoy time with family and friends and celebrate our common heritage.
