A WEDDING IN ITHACA

George and Spyridoula Coutsvelis, and John and Peggy Palmer, are happy to announce the wedding, on Tuesday 3 July 2007, of their children Anastasia (Tas) and Steve at the church in Platrithia. Most of the wedding party travelled from Melbourne and Bendigo, Australia to be in Ithaca for the happy occasion, and the Coutsouvelis' family and friends from Agious Saranta, were there in force to help celebrate the joyous event.

Some 60 guests awaited the wedding party for their arrival at the church where Papas Babbis (who is the parish priest in Kioni) performed the ceremony. After the wedding the company wended their way to the bayside of Frikes to the Rementzo Restaurant for the wedding reception, where the proprietors Poppy and Nektarios had closed the restaurant specially for the memorable occasion

The guests from Australia were delighted with the Greek wedding celebrations and really got into the swing of things. Relatives from Ithaca, were equally thrilled for the happy couple and everyone present was pleased to be part of Steve and Anastasia’s special day on Ithaca. Να είναι καλορρίζικε and our very best wishes for a long and happy life together.

Thu 21 June - It's the time of the year when many ex-pats and/or their descendents flock to the island.
Accents from Australia and South Africa dominate in the north island.

Left - Spyridoula and George Coutsouvelis are back on Ithaca, but this time not only for a holiday, but for a very special occasion, which no doubt you'll see right here on ithacagreece.com. They are visiting from Melbourne Australia where both are members of the Ithacan Philanthropic Society.

(The special occasion referred to above is the wedding of Spyridoula and George’s elder daughter Anasatasia (Tas)
to Steve Palmer on 3 July 2007 in Ithaca.)

Above - Left to right Right - Steve the groom, Peggy - mother of the groom, Ioanna - sister of the bride, Spyridoula, the mother of the bride, George, the father of the bride, John is the father of the groom and Anastasia is of course, the bride. These two families, with their friends and relatives, have traveled all the way from Melbourne Australia for Steves' and Anastasias' wedding on the 3 July. The Church ceremony will be held in Platrithia and the reception will be at Rementzo in Frikes.
